Audi wird ab 2026 in der FIA Formel 1 Weltmeisterschaft antreten.

Das neue Team hat drei Standorte. Das Audi Kompetenz-Center Motorsport in Neuburg (Deutschland) gilt als eines der modernsten seiner Art in Europa. Die Sauber Group's Formula 1 Factory in Hinwil (Schweiz) ist bekannt für ihre innovativen Technologien und ihre Leidenschaft für den Rennsport. Das Sauber Motorsport Technology Center im Vereinigten Königreich wird in diesem Jahr in Betrieb genommen. Unsere Power Unit kommt aus Neuburg, während Hinwil für die Entwicklung des Chassis und den Rennbetrieb verantwortlich ist.

Diese Position für das Audi F1 Project ist bei der Audi Formula Racing GmbH am Standort Neuburg (Deutschland) zu besetzen.

Im Bereich der E-Maschinenentwicklung (MGU-K) arbeitest du an der Schlüsselkomponente elektrischer High-Performance-Antriebe und trägst deinen Teil zur Wettbewerbsfähigkeit im hochkompetitiven F1-Umfeld bei. Die Entwicklung der MGU-K (Motor Generator Unit – Kinetic) erstreckt sich von der frühen Konzeptphase über die Detailkonstruktion bis hin zur Validierung mittels Prüfstandsversuchen.

Deine Aufgaben

Konstruktion und mechanische Auslegung der MGU-K im Rahmen der Formel-1-Antriebsentwicklung
Berücksichtigung mechanischer, thermischer und elektrischer Anforderungen zur Integration der MGU-K in das Gesamtsystem der Power Unit
Zusammenarbeit mit den Bereichen Simulation, Fertigung und Erprobung zur Optimierung von Bauteilen hinsichtlich Performance und Zuverlässigkeit
Erstellung und Pflege von CAD-Modellen, Zeichnungen und Stücklisten mit CATIA V5 und PDM/PLM-Systemen
Auswahl geeigneter Materialien und Fertigungsverfahren
Verfolgung und Analyse von Erkenntnissen aus der Erprobung und dem Rennbetrieb zur Ableitung konstruktiver Verbesserungen
Durchführung von Design-Reviews, Erstellung von Aufbauanleitungen und technische Dokumentation gemäß FIA-Regularien
Fachbereichsübergreifende Zusammenarbeit bei der Entwicklung und Konstruktion des Energy Recovery Systems (ERS)

Dein Profil

Abgeschlossenes Studium im Bereich Maschinenbau, Fahrzeugtechnik, Mechatronik oder vergleichbar
Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung in der Konstruktion von Hochleistungs-E-Maschinen oder anderen Antriebskomponenten im Motorsport
Fundierte Kenntnisse in CATIA V5 sowie PDM/PLM-Systemen
Verständnis für mechanische, thermische und elektrische Anforderungen von Hochleistungsantrieben
Erfahrung mit Motorsport-Regularien der FIA
Umsetzungsstärke sowie ein hohes Maß an Motivation und Eigeninitiative
Ausgeprägte Teamfähigkeit
Zielorientierte, selbständige und strukturierte Arbeitsweise
Entscheidungs- und Konfliktfähigkeit
Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- oder Englischkenntnisse sowie die Bereitschaft Grundkenntnisse in der jeweils anderen Sprache zu erlernen sind Voraussetzung

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations. The Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK will be operational this year. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

In the field of electric machine development (MGU-K), you’ll be working on the key component of high-performance electric drives, contributing directly to competitiveness in the highly demanding Formula 1 environment. The development of the MGU-K (Motor Generator Unit – Kinetic) spans from early concept phases through detailed design to validation via test bench runs.

Your Mission

Design and mechanical development of the MGU-K as part of the Formula 1 power unit
Consideration of mechanical, thermal, and electrical requirements for integrating the MGU-K into the overall power unit system
Collaboration with simulation, manufacturing, and testing to optimize parts in terms of performance and reliability
Creation and maintenance of CAD models, drawings, and bills of materials using CATIA V5 and PDM/PLM systems
Selection of suitable materials and manufacturing processes
Tracking and analysis of results from testing and race operations to derive constructive improvements
Organization of design reviews, creation of build-up instructions and technical documentation in accordance with FIA regulations
Cross-functional collaboration in the development and design of the Energy Recovery System (ERS)

Your Profile

Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics or a comparable field
Several years of professional experience in designing high-performance electric machines or other drivetrain components in motorsport
Solid knowledge of CATIA V5 and PDM/PLM systems
Understanding of mechanical, thermal, and electrical requirements of high-performance drives
Experience with FIA motorsport regulations
Strong implementation skills, high motivation and initiative
Excellent team spirit
Goal-oriented, independent and structured working style
Decision-making and conflict resolution skills
Full professional proficiency in German or English and a willingness to attain a basic level in the corresponding other language are prerequisites
