Audi wird ab 2026 in der FIA Formel 1 Weltmeisterschaft antreten.

Das neue Team hat drei Standorte. Das Audi Kompetenz-Center Motorsport in Neuburg (Deutschland) gilt als eines der modernsten seiner Art in Europa. Die Sauber Group's Formula 1 Factory in Hinwil (Schweiz) ist bekannt für ihre innovativen Technologien und ihre Leidenschaft für den Rennsport. Das Sauber Motorsport Technology Center im Vereinigten Königreich wird in diesem Jahr in Betrieb genommen. Unsere Power Unit kommt aus Neuburg, während Hinwil für die Entwicklung des Chassis und den Rennbetrieb verantwortlich ist.

Diese Position für das Audi F1 Project ist bei der Audi Formula Racing GmbH am Standort Neuburg (Deutschland) zu besetzen.

Im Bereich der Entwicklung von Verbrennungsmotoren arbeiten Sie an der Schadensanalyse eines Hochleistungsantriebs innerhalb der mechanischen Entwicklung. Ihre Aufgabe besteht darin, Schadensfälle im Kontext des jeweiligen Motorsystems zu analysieren, Zusammenhänge zu erkennen und Optimierungsmaßnahmen vorzubereiten, um die maximale Leistung und Effizienz des Motors zu entwickeln – bei gleichzeitigem Sicherstellen der erforderlichen Zuverlässigkeit.

Deine Aufgaben

Erstbewertung und Analyse von Prüfteilen und beschädigten Komponenten
Durchführung mikroskopischer Untersuchungen
Abstimmung mit Konstruktion, Prüfpersonal, Werkstätten und Laboren hinsichtlich Konstruktion, Lieferqualität, Prüfablauf und -belastung, Aufbau sowie Laboranalysen
Ableitung und Durchführung weiterer Tests und Funktionsmessungen zur Klärung der Schadensursache
Analyse der Schadensursache und Bestätigung der Gegenmaßnahme
Dokumentation und Berichterstattung zum aktuellen Entwicklungsstand

Dein Profil

Technischer Hochschulabschluss im Bereich Maschinenbau oder Fahrzeugtechnik
(Bachelor, Master, Diplom oder Promotion zum Dr.-Ing.)
Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Analyse von Motorschäden
Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung im Bereich Motorenmechanik sowie in der Erprobung von Hochleistungs-Verbrennungsmotoren
Umfassende Kenntnisse der Motorentechnologie mit ausgezeichneter Expertise in den Bereichen Motorenprüfung, Messtechnik, Tribologie und Werkstoffkunde
Erfahrung im Betrieb von Prüfständen für Motoren und Komponenten
Hervorragende Team- und Organisationsfähigkeiten sowie ein ausgeprägtes Verantwortungsbewusstsein
Selbstständige und strukturierte Arbeitsweise
Entscheidungsfähigkeit und Konfliktlösungskompetenz
Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- oder Englischkenntnisse sowie die Bereitschaft, Grundkenntnisse in der jeweils anderen Sprache zu erwerben

Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.

The new team has three locations. The Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK will be operational this year. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

In the internal combustion engine development division, you will work on the failure analysis of a high-performance drivetrain within mechanical development. Your task will be to analyze damage cases in the context of the respective engine system, identify connections, and prepare optimization measures to develop the maximum performance and efficiency of the engine while at the same time ensuring the required reliability.

Your Mission

Initial analysis and appraisal of test parts and damaged parts
Performing microscopic examinations
Coordinating with Design, test operators, workshops, and laboratories with regard to the design, supply quality, test operation and load, setup, and laboratory analyses
Deriving and performing further tests and functional measurements to clarify the cause of the failure
Analyzing the cause of the failure and confirming the measure
Documenting and reporting on the development status

Your Profile

Technical degree in mechanical engineering or automotive engineering (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, graduate diploma (“Diplom”), or engineering doctorate (“Dr.-Ing.”))
Several years of experience in the area of engine failure analysis
Several years of professional experience in the area of engine mechanics as well as testing of high-performance combustion engines
Broad knowledge of engine technology with excellent expertise in the fields of engine testing, measurement technology, tribology and materials science
Experience in operating engine and component test benches
Excellent teamwork and organizational skills as well as a strong sense of responsibilityIndependent and structured working practices
Ability to make decisions and handle conflicts
Full professional proficiency in German or English and a willingness to learn a basic level in the corresponding other language are prerequisites
