Unser Team
Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.  
 
The new team has three locations. The Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Formula 1 factory of Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Audi Motorsport Technology Center, UK, is in its launch phase and growing continuously. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil (Switzerland).
Deine Aufgaben
Become part of the Powertrain Race Team! Travel worldwide and participate in trackside operations!
  • Autonomous real-time data analysis, telemetry evaluation, and reliability investigations of racing quick-shift gearboxes/cassettes, high-pressure hydraulic systems, and the clutch at the trackside
  • Prediction, allocation, and monitoring of component mileage to ensure safe and efficient usage during race and test events
  • Continuous improvement and optimization of work processes at the racetrack in close coordination with the race team on track and the design and workshop teams
  • Troubleshooting of components and the overall system in close collaboration with the design and workshop teams
  • Identifying and documenting issues as well as during testing and racing operations of the components in close collaboration with the design and workshop teams
  • Support the management of logistics and shipments between factory and trackside to guarantee timely availability of components, equipment and materials
  • Creation and coordination of mechanical job lists and car specification instructions to ensure accurate execution of all technical operations
  • Test engineering activities including validation, calibration, and characterization of quick-shift gearboxes/cassettes, high-pressure hydraulic systems, and the clutch at the trackside
  • Thinking and acting solution-oriented and communicating calculated risks
Dein Profil
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or a comparable technical field with professional experience in motorsport (ideally trackside)
  • In-depth technical expertise in powertrain systems (ideally F1 gearboxes)
  • Solid knowledge in data analysis and evaluation 
  • Understanding of the driving dynamics and key influencing parameters of the powertrain including brake-by-wire and a controllable differential
  • Experience with McLaren Applied Atlas and vTAG
  • Good MS-Office skills as well as SAP and Jira Know-How are advantages
  • Highly motivated, reliable, and solution-oriented personality
  • Excellent creative thinking and manual skills
  • Experience in working in a high paced environment and under pressure
  • Openness and capability to learn and develop new competencies hands-on
  • Resilient personality and strong team player willing to work under difficult working conditions around the world with high flexibility to work on weekends
  • Full professional proficiency in English and a willingness to learn a basic level of German
