  • Optimierung der Reibleistung an Bauteilkomponenten und Vollmotor mittels geschleppter Reibleistungsmessungen
  • Mechanikentwicklung im Bereich Ölhaushalt, Kühlkreislauf, Kurbel-/Zahnrad-/Ventiltrieb, Ansaug-/Abgassystem und Hydraulik für einen Hochleistungs-Rennmotor vom Konzept bis zum Renneinsatz
  • Selbständige Planung, Durchführung und Auswertung von Versuchen sowie Dauerlauferprobung und Funktionsmessungen an Motor- und Komponentenprüfständen
  • Analyse von Versuchsergebnissen und Schadensbildern sowie Erarbeitung von Optimierungsmaßnahmen
  • Erarbeitung von Schädigungsmodellen
Dein Profil
  • Technisches Studium Maschinenbau oder Kraftfahrzeugtechnik (Abschluss Bachelor, Master, Diplom oder Dr.-Ing.)
  • Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung im Bereich der Motormechanikentwicklung, Reibleistungsoptimierung sowie Erprobung an high-performance Verbrennungsmotoren
  • Breites motortechnisches Wissen mit sehr guten Kenntnissen im Bereich Motorversuch, Messtechnik, Tribologie und Werkstoffkunde
  • Mehrjährige Erfahrung im Bereich der Schadensanalyse
  • Erfahrung im Bereich Drehschwingungsanalysen am Motor- und Antriebsstrang und DMS-Messungen
  • Erfahrung beim Betrieb von Motor-, Komponenten- und Reibleistungsprüfständen
  • Kenntnisse von pneumatischen und hydraulischen Systemen
  • Ausgeprägte Team- und Organisationsfähigkeit sowie ein hohes Maß an Verantwortungsbewusstsein
  • Selbstständige und strukturierte Arbeitsweise
  • Entscheidungs- und Konfliktfähigkeit

Im Bereich Entwicklung Verbrennungsmotor arbeitest Du mit an der Mechanikentwicklung eines Hochleistungsaggregats. Es ist Deine Aufgabe in ein oder mehreren Teilgebieten innerhalb der Motormechanik wie z.B. Reibleistungsentwicklung, Öl-/Kühlhaushalt, Kurbeltrieb, Schadensanalyse und Hydraulik die maximale Performance und Effizienz des Motors bei der gleichzeitig erforderlichen Zuverlässigkeit zu entwickeln.
Du führst Entwicklungsumfänge sowohl in der Konzept- und Auslegungsphase als auch in der Inbetriebnahme- und Erprobungsphase durch. Du planst dies in Zusammenarbeit mit Konstruktion und Simulation an verschiedensten Motor-, Komponenten- oder Antriebsstrangprüfständen. Die Versuche werden von Dir selbständig durchgeführt, analysiert und anschließend entsprechende Vorschläge für die Weiterentwicklung erarbeitet. Du unterstützt mit Deinem Einsatz, dass die Gesamt-Entwicklung der Antriebseinheit entsprechend Zeitplan den erforderlichen Reifegrad erzielt.

Die Audi Formula Racing GmbH ist eine Tochtergesellschaft von Audi Sport und wurde im Jahr 2022 für den Formel-1-Einstieg der Marke gegründet. Ab 2026 treten die Vier Ringe mit einer eigens entwickelten Antriebseinheit („Power Unit“) und einem Werksteam in der weltweit populären FIA-Formel-1-Weltmeisterschaft an. Das Programm bildet künftig die Speerspitze des werksseitigen Motorsport-Engagements von Audi.
 
Die Power Unit wird im hochmodernen Kompetenz-Center Motorsport von Audi Sport in Neuburg an der Donau entwickelt, unweit des Unternehmenssitzes der AUDI AG in Ingolstadt. Der im Jahr 2014 eröffnete Standort gilt als eines der modernsten seiner Art und wird derzeit für das F1-Engagement umfassend erweitert. Damit entsteht erstmals seit 2009 wieder ein Formel-1-Antrieb in Deutschland. Entscheidend ist dabei das neue Reglement des Automobil-Weltverbandes FIA, das ab 2026 unter anderem nachhaltige synthetische Kraftstoffe vorsieht und den elektrischen Anteil der Hybrid-Antriebseinheit auf annähernd 50 Prozent anhebt. Audi möchte die Transformation der mit Abstand bedeutendsten Motorsportserie aktiv begleiten.
 
Global bekannt, hoch emotional und technisch hoch entwickelt – die Formel 1 ist eine spektakuläre Plattform für die anspruchsvollsten elektrifizierten Rennfahrzeuge der Welt. Audi stellt sich der Herausforderung, in diesem kompetitiven Umfeld Vorsprung durch Technik zu beweisen und stellt dafür ein hoch spezialisiertes Team zur Entwicklung der Power Unit zusammen. Your mission
  • Optimize friction power for part components and full engines using drag test benches
  • Mechanical engineering in the area of oil supply, cooling systems, crank / gear / valve drives, intake/exhaust system and hydraulics for a high-performance racing engine, from concept to deployment on the racetrack.
  • Independently plan, perform, and evaluate experiments and endurance tests and functional measurements on engine and component test benches
  • Analyze experiment results and failure scenarios as and develop optimization measures
  • Develop failure models


Your profile
  • Technical degree in mechanical engineering or automotive engineering (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, graduate diploma (“Diplom”), or engineering doctorate (“Dr.-Ing.”))
  • Several years of professional experience in the area of engine mechanics and friction power optimization as well as testing of high-performance combustion engines
  • Broad knowledge of engine technology with excellent expertise in the fields of engine testing, measurement technology, tribology and materials science
  • Several years of experience in the area of failure analysis
  • Experience in torsional vibration analysis on the engine and drivetrain and strain gage measurements
  • Experience in operating engine, component, and friction power test benches
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Excellent teamwork and organizational skills as well as a strong sense of responsibility
  • Independent and structured working practices
  • Ability to make decisions and handle conflicts
  • Full professional proficiency in German or English and a willingness to learn a basic level in the corresponding other language are prerequisites

In the internal combustion engine development division, you will work on the mechanical development of a high-performance drivetrain. Your task is to develop the maximum performance and efficiency of the engine in one or more sub-areas such as friction power, oil/cooling systems, crank drives, failure analysis and hydraulics while at the same time ensuring the required reliability.
You will perform development measures in the concept and design phase as well as in the commissioning and testing phase. You will plan this work alongside Design and Simulation on a wide variety of engine, component, and powertrain test benches. You will independently conduct and analyze the experiments and then develop appropriate proposals for further development. With your efforts, you will support the overall development of the drive unit to achieve the required level of maturity in line with the schedule.

About us
Audi Formula Racing GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Audi Sport and was founded in 2022 for the brand’s Formula 1 entry. From 2026, the brand with the four rings will compete in the widely popular FIA Formula 1 World Championship with an internally developed power unit and its own factory team. In the future, the program will spearhead Audi’s factory commitment in motorsport.
 
The power unit is developed at Audi Sport’s state-of-the-art Competence Center Motorsport in Neuburg an der Donau, close to AUDI AG’s corporate headquarters in Ingolstadt. The facility opened in 2014 and is considered as one of the most modern of its kind. It’s currently being expanded for the F1 program. For the first time since 2009, a Formula 1 power unit will be made in Germany.

The decision to enter Formula 1 was driven by new regulations announced by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). From 2026, sustainable synthetic fuels will be used while approximately 50% of the drivetrain’s power will be electric. Audi wants to actively support the transformation of what is by far the most important motorsport series.
 
Popular on a global stage, highly emotional and technologically advanced – Formula 1 is a spectacular platform for the world’s most sophisticated electrified racing cars. Audi wants to demonstrate “Vorsprung durch Technik” in this competitive environment and is putting together a highly specialized team to develop the power unit.
