Seit der Saison 2026 tritt Audi in der FIA Formel 1 Weltmeisterschaft an.

Das neue Team hat drei Standorte. Das Audi Kompetenz-Center Motorsport in Neuburg (Deutschland) gilt als eines der modernsten seiner Art in Europa. Die Formula 1 Factory der Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil (Schweiz) ist bekannt für ihre innovativen Technologien und ihre Leidenschaft für den Rennsport. Das Audi Motorsport Technology Center im Vereinigten Königreich ist in der Startphase und wächst stetig. Unsere Power Unit kommt aus Neuburg, während Hinwil für die Entwicklung des Chassis und den Rennbetrieb verantwortlich ist.

Diese Position ist bei der Audi Formula Racing GmbH am Standort Neuburg (Deutschland) zu besetzen.

Als Leiter_in der Formel 1 Getriebeentwicklung trägst Du maßgeblich zum Erfolg des Projektes bei, definierst die Entwicklungsrichtungen der verschiedenen Teilbereiche und führst mit Deiner Schlüsselkompetenz ein internationales Team in Neuburg a. d. Donau.

Deine Aufgaben

Disziplinarische und fachliche Leitung der Abteilung Entwicklung Getriebe/Hydraulik
Du verantwortest mit Deiner Abteilung:

Die Entwicklung eines konkurrenzfähigen Zero-Shift Formel 1 Getriebes
Die Entwicklung der Antriebswellen
Die Entwicklung einer Formel 1 Kupplung
Die Entwicklung des Ölsystems eines Formel 1 Getriebes, virtuell sowie in Hardware
Die Entwicklung eines konkurrenzfähigen Formel 1 Hochdruckhydraulik-Systems in enger Zusammenarbeit mit angrenzenden Abteilungen
Die strukturellen Auslegungen aller Bauteile in enger Abstimmung mit angrenzenden Abteilungen
Durchführung der Komponententests auf Getriebe- und Antriebsstrangprüfständen sowie bei Fahrzeugtests
Die 1D / 3D Multi Body Simulation des Antriebsstrangs
Die Zuverlässigkeit und Qualität der Getriebe- und Hydraulikkomponenten
Die Installation von Tools und Prozessen sowie Mindset bei den Mitarbeitenden, die eine hohe Qualität, ein robustes Design und außergewöhnliche Zuverlässigkeit fördern und produzieren

Als Leiter_in verantwortest Du ferner sämtliche Personalthemen der Abteilung, die Organisation der Abteilung, Ressourcenplanung und Zeitpläne, Budgetgrenzen, die Pflege der Managementsysteme sowie die Prozess- und Schnittstellenvereinbarungen.

Dein Profil

Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes technisches oder naturwissenschaftliches Studium (Master/Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics oder Ähnlichem)
Ausgeprägte analytische, systemische, selbstständige Arbeitsweise und ausgeprägte Teamfähigkeit
Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Leitung internationaler, multidisziplinärer Teams
Ein sehr gutes Gesamtfahrzeugverständnis von Rennfahrzeugen sowie der Einfluss des Antriebsstrangs auf die Fahrdynamik
Du bist bereit Dich nahtlos in ein internationales Team einzufinden
Du verstehst es, ein engagiertes Team in einem ambitionierten Umfeld zu begeistern und zielgerichtet zu führen
Du besitzt ein sicheres und verbindliches Auftreten
Du lebst ein hohes Maß an Entscheidungsstärke, Disziplin, Leistungsbereitschaft, Eigeninitiative und Teamgeist vor
Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- oder Englischkenntnisse sowie die Bereitschaft, Grundkenntnisse in der jeweils anderen Sprache zu erlernen, sind Voraussetzung

Our Team

Since the 2026 season, Audi has been competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The new team has three locations. The Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Formula 1 factory of Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Audi Motorsport Technology Center in UK is in its launch phase and growing continuously. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

This position is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

As head of Formula 1 Transmission Development, you will make a significant contribution to the success of the project, specify the development directions for the various subsections, and apply your key skills leading an international team in Neuburg an der Donau.

Your Mission

Disciplinary and specialist leadership of the Transmission/Hydraulics department
With your department, you will be responsible for:

Developing a competitive zero-shift Formula 1 transmission
Developing the drive shafts
Developing a Formula 1 clutch
Developing the oil system of a Formula 1 transmission, both virtually and in the form of hardware
Developing a competitive Formula 1 high-pressure hydraulic system in close collaboration with adjacent departments
The structural design of all parts in close coordination with related departments
Performing the component tests on transmission and powertrain test benches and in the context of vehicle tests
The 1D / 3D multi-body simulation of the powertrain
The reliability and quality of the transmission and hydraulics components
The installation of tools and processes as well as the establishment of a mindset among the employees that promote and produce high quality, a robust design, and extraordinary reliability

As department head, you will also be responsible for all HR topics in the department, the organization of the department, resource planning and schedules, budget limits, maintenance of management systems, and process and interface agreements.

Your Profile

Technical or scientific degree (master’s/bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar)
Highly developed analytical, systematic, independent way of working and ability to work in a team
Several years of experience in managing international, multi-disciplinary teams
An excellent understanding of the overall racing vehicle and as well as of how the powertrain affects driving dynamics
You are ready to seamlessly integrate into an international team
You know how to inspire a dedicated team in an ambitious environment and lead it in a targeted way
You have a confident and engaging manner
You display a high level of decision-making ability, discipline, motivation, initiative, and team spirit
Full professional proficiency in German or English and a willingness to attain a basic level in the other language are prerequisites
